Radio Jingle

The country show’s purpose is to showcase the wares of the local area and this year in our marketing we showcase two of Camden’s most exciting young musicians. Following the success of the original recordings by Stephen Graham two years ago we have this year made a fresh recording featuring Luke Koteras and Tori Darke.

Luke Koteras

Brought up by music-loving parents, Luke was fed a steady diet of Jeff St John, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Beatles, Nirvana, John Farnham, Renee Gayer and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. As a lad, Luke won many trophies and awards as an outstanding guitar-playing talent before going on to complete his music studies at the Australian Institute of Music. Learning his licks from intently listening to Tommy Emmanuel through to Jimmy Page and then by personally swapping licks with Joseph Calderazzo, Dai Pritchard, Steve Flack, Bill Chambers and many other great Aussie guitar players. Now as his own man, 22-year-old Luke plays a blend of new age acoustic music with a modern flavour, occasionally mixing it up with a bit of electric guitar.

He seems to revel in doing things to perfection and he has the ability to pull live performances off. Whispers about Luke Koteras started to spread when he scored recording time with ‘Foghorn Records’ whilst still 17 years old.
Don’t let anyone try to convince you that Luke’s youth lessens his competence as a true musician and songwriter nor lessens the knockout blow of his albums ‘Acoustically Speaking’, ‘FATE and the NEW!! 100% instrumental ‘Acoustically Yours’. All albums are now available to download through iTunes and live gigs.

Tori Darke

Born Victoria Darke in Paddington, NSW, on July 19, 1990, this young lady has set her sights on international recognition as a professional singer-songwriter.
Singing since the age of three, Tori competed in eisteddfods, eventually winning the City of Wollongong Eisteddfod and setting a record for the highest point score ever achieved in the open vocal section.
For the past few years Tori has turned her vocal talents towards the country arena, finding musical influences in Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood.
From her home base of Mt Annan, on the outskirts of Sydney, Tori travelled widely to compete in talent quests in a bid to work her way towards her ultimate goal.
Having won a number of quests over the years, Tori was particularly delighted in January 2008 to win the Mal Gardiner best new talent trophy at the CCMA National Talent Quest in Tamworth, where she received a scholarship to attend the Tamworth Camerata College in 2008. Attending this prestigious country music school for young performers had been a goal of Tori’s for several years as she saw Camerata as the first major step on her musical journey.
Recently winning the Toyota “Maton Talent Search” in Gympie, Tori was awarded a scholarship to attend the CMAA Australian Senior College of Country Music, held in Tamworth each January, as well as an all expenses paid trip to Canada to be the Australian Ambassador to perform at the Merritt Mountain Country Music festival in July 2009.
Tori’ s last achievement was being announced as a 2009 Toyota Star Maker Grand Finalist.
Having completed her schooling a little over 12 months ago, Tori works part-time while she hones her craft at weekly performances travelling the eastern seaborne of Australia.
