The Farm Discovery Centre is a new addition to the Education area. This area will provide a series of stations with interactive activities. The activities aim to educate students and families about various agricultural products produced by our farmers.

The Centre is most suited to primary aged students. Incorporating the Farm Discovery Centre into your school excursion or visit to the show will enhance the show experience and give children the opportunity to get ‘hands on’ with agriculture.

The Farm Discovery Centre will be open from 9:00am – 4:00pm daily.

Stations may include:

The Potato Patch – Get your hands dirty and dig as hard as you can to locate your very own potato. Lots of fun to be had as you search for spuds and learn about the ideal conditions for growing potatoes and the best ways to cook the different varieties you find.

Little Green Thumbs – Try your hand at gardening, where they have the opportunity to pot a vegetable and take it home to put in the garden.

Happy Hen House – guess which type of hen laid which egg and learn about the different breeds of poultry.

The Beef Experience – Learn about where the different cuts of beef come from and the ideal cooking methods

The Bakers Delight – Have a go at grinding the various grains that make our bread and pasta
